Mind now wanders throughout the corridors of time,
Memories coming back with no reason or rhyme,
Reflections of the soul are looking back at me,
I could not break the shackles and let myself free.

Dark shadows residing still within your soul’s mind,
Forgotten in locked rooms waiting for you to find,
Terror and fear always seeming to draw so near,
Not feeling at all left one with a mind so clear.

Bottles of teardrops upon the shelves of the heart,
Sadness killing the hope of laughter’s healing start,
Echo’s of thoughts make images for one to dread,
Joy had been replaced with sad sorrow in its stead.

Mistrust allowed no one to near to the hearts core,
Restless feelings, never sure what one’s looking for
Somehow subtle anger lurking with its soft voice,
The years of pain because one felt there was no choice.

Then suddenly something thawed out these cold sad hearts,
Shackles were broken, teardrops falling, a new start,
Evil that lurked controlling the mind was no more,
Hopes flame grew ever brighter within the soul’s cores.

Gentle arms surrounded, holding ever so tight,
Soft words of love brought comfort in the dark of night,
Loneliness gone as it was banished from the mind,
No longer was there emptiness for the self to find

Salvation given by loves gentle touch that heals,
Now within there is so much beauty that one feels,
Souls are joining to become one that is so strong,
They finally have a loving place to belong.

In memory of the American tragedy, sept 11 2001.
May peace be in our hearts despite it all.
